Boat-Shaped & Profiled Oilstones
Boat shapes, wedges and specials — for curved edges and non-standard profiles.
WHAT THEY ARE
The shape that follows the curve
A boat-shaped oilstone narrows to a point at both ends and bulges through the middle, like the hull of a boat seen from above. That profile lets the stone follow a curved edge — scythes, curved knives, carving tools — without the corners digging in, and it suits long stropping-style strokes on concave surfaces.
We produce them in single-grit and two-grit faces, in green silicon carbide and other abrasive bodies. Beyond the classic boat shape, this series also covers wedge and chamfered profiles — sizes and curvature matched to your sample or drawing.
